Project Manager

As an important member of our team you'll work closely with our clients, our developers and designers. You'll conduct requirements gathering, produce wireframes and functional specifications, create release and delivery plans, and help keep the team focused. You're an instinctive communicator, good listener and motivator. Above all you have a sense of humour and a serious passion for all things digital.

A few other things we hope you know or do:

  • you are familiar with web site and web application development projects (one or more of ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, PHP/MySQL)
  • you have knowledge of Scrum, Kanban and/or XP and you always consider which methodology is best for your team and for your client
  • you are interested in the latest news and techniques in programming and design
  • you are familiar with terms such as AJAX, JSON, SQL, OOP, REST and CRM
  • you are able to communicate with a multi-national team in English and German
A degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Communication Design, or Management and Information Systems is desirable but not required, as is experience as a developer. Back-End Web Developer

You will develop and maintain new and existing applications using ASP.Net, C# and web services with a MS SQL Server backend. You may sometimes be called on to participate in on-call responsibilities for system monitoring.

Must have skills:

  • are familiar with design patterns and devoted to writing well-documented, clean and unit-tested code
  • have experience programming ASP.Net applications in C#
  • are comfortable writing SQL queries
  • have experience and knowledge in building web services
  • knowledge of web architecture, standards and important web protocols
  • have used a source control system (we use Subversion)
  • can speak and read English

Nice to have skills:

  • are comfortable writing advanced SQL queries as well as creating stored procedures and views for SQL Server.
  • are comfortable using and writing JavaScript
  • RESTful service development experience
  • are familiar with other scripting languages such as PHP, Ruby or Python
  • can speak German

You'll really stand-out if you also:

  • have experience with JQuery, AJAX
  • have experience with release management, automated builds and deployment, unit testing

Front-End Web Developer

You know how to do server-side scripting, but ultimately are more interested in front-end interactivity and appearance. You’ll code new designs, standardize and re-factor existing parts of our sites as well as create sophisticated interfaces for in-browser applications.

Must have skills:

  • can write clean XHTML and CSS2, knowing the limitations of IE6
  • are comfortable using and writing JavaScript, including AJAX techniques
  • take special pride in producing quality, cross-browser-compatible work
  • are aware of the newest trends and techniques in HTML, CSS and web design
  • can speak and read English

Nice to have skills:

  • working knowledge of JQuery
  • have experience templating CMS frameworks
  • know PHP or Ruby
  • previous experience with XSLT and XPath
  • knowledge of Visual Studio, have used a source control system (we use Subversion)
  • can speak German
  • we have an in-house designer, but it helps to have some good taste of your own

You'll really stand-out if you also:

  • have used and can help implement proper JavaScript testing suites
  • have experience with C#

You are studying: Computer science, business administration and management

We're looking for:

  • good spoken and written German and English

Nice to have skills:

  • web standards, HTML/CSS
  • familiarity with search engine optimization
